| Turkish Class Students get certificates in Raindrop Turkish House |
|
Fall 2011 Study Turkish classes are over and students got their course completion certificates in a ceremony in Raindrop Turkish House on Sunday, December 4th. The ceremony gathered all teachers, students and conversation partners together. Once all participants enjoyed refreshments and watched a video about Turkish people and Turkey, qualified students got their certificates. Turkish classes will continue in spring semester too and Study Turkish hopes to see all students again next semester, hopefully in an upper level class. After students got their certificates they watched a Turkish movie. Study Turkish, a student organization at Texas A&M, offers free Turkish classes since 2008 with collaboration of Raindrop Turkish House and more than 200 students have taken Turkish classes since than. (December 4, 2011 College Station/Bryan) All the teachers and conversation partners are volunteers from Turkish community here in Bryan/College Station. One of the volunteer teachers, says that ''it's much more than teaching a language or for my students more than learning Turkish. These classes give us the opportunity to know new people, new cultures and lead to new friendships. It was a great experience for me.'' |
