11th Annual Turkish Festival in Austin
austin fest 2015 Raindrop Turkish House organized one of the best spring festivals in Austin this year! With around 3,000 visitors and tens of booths -both vendors and non-profit organizations- it was such a memorable day! Like each year, the highlights of the festival were traditional Turkish food, coffee, unique Turkish arts and folk dances this year, too! Visitors had the previlige of tasting from a large varity of delicious Turkish food such as "baklava", "lahmacun", "dolma"s, traditional "börek"s, kebaps and "gozleme" which were prepared and cooked during the festival..

Raindrop Turkish Language Class participants received their certificates

23.05.2015 16:29:18: Beste Chentler: Raindrop Turkish Language Class participants received their certificates on May 19th, 2015 with a small ceremony. Turkish classes are offered annually September through May on Saturdays at the Raindrop Turkish Cultural Center. "It has been so much fun learning Turkish and Turkish culture and the knowledge acquired from the language courses help me a lot on my trips to Turkey," said Haley Shields, Turkish Class participant.

Earthquake Help Campaign for the victims in Nepal

NEPAL-704x318An earthquake hit densely populated capitol Kathmandu area in Nepal around noon on Saturday. The international airport in the city was shut down several hours adding on the chaos. Authorities said Sunday that at least 2,000 people were killed, all but 60 of them in Nepal. At least 721 of them died in Kathmandu alone, The Associated Press reported.

sxsw boothRaindrop Turkish House was at ‪SXSWedu‬ Expo, promoted education services.The 2015 SXSWedu Education Expo is a free and open to the public event celebrating the Central Texas community's hunger and passion for lifelong learning, from cradle to career and beyond. The Education Expo brought more than 4,500 Central Texas students, parents and educators to the Austin Convention Center.

nevruzOur Umbrella organization TCAE (Turquoise Council of Americans and Eurasians) cordially invites you to join us in the annual 2015 Nowruz Festival which will be held Saturday, March 21st through Sunday March 22nd, 2015 at the Turquoise Center (located 9301 West Bellfort Ave, Houston, Texas, 77031) between 11:00am and 8:00pm! Traditional live shows and cultural performances, fun games for kids, live music, traditional folk dances, and soccer games will be arranged as part of the festival! The Nowruz Festival is one that aims to celebrate the coming of spring as well as unite the people of the world!Nowruz has been observed for more than 3,000 years and has been mostly celebrated on the day of the spring equinox, which is the term used to explain the day when sun shines directly to the equator and the length of day and night is nearly equal all over the world.  Before Nowruz gained universal recognition, its geography was vast yet mostly limited to Central Asia and the Middle East. Nowruz is now a deeply rooted traditional celebration amongst the entire Turkic world.
