Annual Turkish Festival -oklahoma city Raindrop Foundation is a non-profit cultural organization that seeks to promote friendship and understanding through shared understanding and community experiences. The Goal of this event is to familiarize the community with the work of Raindrop Foundation as well as its’ mission in the community. The festival will feature Turkish folk dances, traditional music, water marbling art known around the world as Ebru, and many gift items, as well as original arts and crafts for sale to the public; alongside, the unforgettable and delicious Turkish Cuisine. The admission is FREE and the event is open to the public |

Kinkaid School students presented many different cultures on April 10th. Turkey booth attracted great attention. Booth was decorated by students Katie Wallis, Claudia Glickman and Alisha Dhanani. Students and parents watched Turkish water-marbling art with enthusiasm and tried to perform water-marbling. Also people enjoyed with Turkish food such as baklava, Turkish delight, kisir and dolma. They had fun while trying to roll grape leaves for dolma.

Raindrop Turkish House Austin Chapter organized dinner in honor of the Minister of Economy of Turkey His Excellency Zafer Caglayan. The evening marked the first ever cabinet level visit from Turkey to the Raindrop Turkish House in Austin. During his speech the minister emphasized the import work that local organization such as Raindrop play a role into improving relations and building bridges between the US and Turkey: "Our appointed consuls and attaché's have four year terms at which end they leave; you on the other hand are our permanent representatives". Minister Caglayan mentioned how impressed he was with the work done so for by Raindrop: "As the name implies rain drops become ponds and lakes but what I have seen in Houston and Austin was beyond that I have seen oceans".

The 7th Annual Turkish Language Olympiad, organized by Raindrop Foundation, was held at Arena Theater in Houston on Sunday, March 24, 2013. Over a thousand viewers enjoyed this festive atmosphere where students, parents, teachers and guests enjoyed live performances in different languages including English, Turkish and Spanish. The MC of the program was ABC 13’s Miya Shay together with two students, Anthony Beltran and Phillip Munoz who made announcements in Turkish.
