Raindrop Women Association hosted Consular Ladies Club

Raindrop Women Association hosted Consular Ladies Club on Tuesday, January 10th. Consular Ladies took a tour of the Turquoise Center, and enjoyed homemade Turkish food after they have seen a cooking class demonstration. They learnt how to make stuffed grape leaves and tried doing it themselves. After lunch, ladies watched live water marbling (ebru) demonstration.

Cooperating Baptist Fellowship Oklahoma Makes Monetary Donation to Earthquake Victims in Turkey

The Oklahoma Cooperating Fellowship presented a check for monetary donation to the Raindrop Turkish House in Oklahoma City, as a part of their commitment to help the victims of the earthquake in the city of Van in Turkey.

Preston Clegg from the Pastor Spring Creek Baptist Church and Stacy Pyle, the Associate Coordinator, CBFO met with Orhan Osman, the Director of The Raindrop Turkish House, Oklahoma City. Orhan Osman, receiving the check, thanked CBFO for their contribution through fundraising to help those who were affected by the quake. “I am so humbled and honored to accept this donation from fellow Oklahomans.


Austin Helping Hands served food for needy people

Raindrop Helping Hands, Austin branch, provided a dinner for residents in the transitional housing in South Austin area on November 27th  . Cooperating with Michelle Powers’s soup kitchen, volunteers from Raindrop Turkish House served the meal.

This dinner has special significance for Raindrop Turkish House as it follows the Muslim festival of Eidul Adha, which commemorates the sacrifice and obedience of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him). Muslims offer their sacrifices as a demonstration of their gratitude to God and they are enjoined to share their sacrifices with the poor and needy.

Houston High School students donated $250.00 to the victims of Van Earthquake in Turkey

RD_HHS_Donation_1After the earthquake disaster in Van, Turkey on Sunday, October 23, 2011, 644 people were killed and around 20,000 people became homeless. A number of countries and companies have generously donated food, shelter and various essential things which have been needed. One of them is Houston High School in Memphis, Tennessee. There are around fifty student clubs in this school.
