Federal Government has declared a major disaster in the State of Mississippi following a massive tornado that destroyed or heavily damaged more than 800 homes in the southern part of the state.

On February 8, 2013 at Fifty-First Legislature and First Session, the House of Representatives of NM honored Raindrop with a certificate sponsored by Rep. Zachery J. Cook (Lincoln & Otero Counties) expressing the recognition of the House of Representatives to the Raindrop Foundation. At the session, Rep. Zachary Cook addressed to the House and said "The Raindrop Foundation has once again proven its dedication and friendship to the people of New Mexico". “Their support will help all those affected by the devastation of the fire, and their generosity will not be forgotten". The Executive Director of Raindrop Foundation, Necip Orhan gave some information about the foundation and said “as being a significant part of this community, we are very delighted to be able make a contribution to help repair the damage.” Following, he thanked to the House of Representatives for recognition of the donation. During the session, Raindrop was represented by Ahmet Tiryaki (a well-respected local businessman) and Necip Orhan (Executive Director).The certificate was presented them by the Speaker of the House.

College Station/Bryan Raindrop Turkish House representatives organized an Ebru (Turkish paper-marbling) workshop at Bremond ISD for high school students on January 9th, 2013. It was such a great opportunity for the students to see this beautiful Turkish ancient art in their art class. The students first watched the demonstration and then they were able to try paper marbling in their own during the workshop time. The students really enjoyed doing this unique Turkish art. The Bremond ISD art teacher, Lisa L. Miller said “The High School students loved this Turkish Paper Marbling and in the next week they want to share this beautiful art with middle school students”. Ms. Miller also shared some students’ paper marblings on Artsonia online Art Gallery.
