Raindrop foundation hosted Eid celebration with Oklahoma City’s Refugee Resettlement program

Raindrop Turkish House hosted the Al Adha Eid celebration with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City's Refugee Resettlement Program. The celebration provided a valuable opportunity to collaborate with community organizations and make a positive impact in the lives of newly arrived immigrants. Over seventy staff, clients and guests attended including Ersin Demirci and Catholic Charities' Sahar Aldurobi, refugee social services case worker. The two opened the event with welcome remarks, sharing how the missions of both Raindrop Foundation and Catholic Charities were aligned with cross-cultural learning and community integration. Invitees thoroughly enjoyed home-cooked, authentic Turkish cuisine and tea while children received donated gifts from Raindrop Foundation. Attendees participated in a raffle contest for gift cards, and the evening ended with an Oud performance by a member of the audience.
The Raindrop Foundation showcased activities, such as Turkish and English as a Second Language classes, Coffee Nights, and Turkish cooking classes, for which all guests had the chance to sign up. 5 October 2014
