TURKISH FESTIVAL IN OKLAHOMA CITY

kmOklahoma City's 5th Annual Turkish Festival drew a steady crowd all day last Saturday, Sunday surging to a nearly packed house by early evening. The event was an inviting mix of authentic Turkish food, such as doner, dolma, pastries, baklava, kabab. After tasting the delicious Turkish dishes, visitors had the pleasure of drinking Turkish Tea in the oriental corner. Water Marbling (Ebru)art,,ceramic arts,Anatolian felting art,Turkish calligraphy art, were one of the focus points as the guests experienced hands-on painting on the water.

THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA WON FIRST PLACE WITH THEIR DISPLAT

OKMembers of the Oklahoma City and Tulsa Raindrop Turkish House attended the 8th Annual Turkish Culture and Language Olympiad, held at the Hobby Center in Houston, on Saturday February 15th, 2014.
Members participated in the cultural display contest by exhibiting Native American items and pictures from Oklahoma.Autumn Pritchett and Caitlyn Sloan, two members of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, were also there to help display the traditional dress for Kiowa women.
The state of Oklahoma won First Place with their display and the award was accepted on stage by tayyip oral, from oklahoma city.

This year Raindrop Turkish House will bring cultural entertainment and education to oklahoma city by presenting the 5th Annual Turkish Festival.The Goal of this event is to familiarize the community with the work of Raindrop Turkish House as well as its’ mission in the community. The festival will feature Turkish folk dances, traditional music, water marbling art known around the world as Ebru, and many gift items, as well as original arts and crafts for sale to the public; alongside, the unforgettable and delicious Turkish Cuisine.

.The admission is FREE and the event is open to the public

THE TURKISH ART OF MARBLING (EBRU)

Marbling is the art of creating colorful patterns by sprinkling and brushing color pigments on a pan of oily water and then transforming this pattern to paper. The special tools of the trade are brushes of horsehair bound to straight rose twigs, a deep tray made of unknotted pinewood, natural

earth pigments, cattle gall and tragacanth.

 Join us for the Water Marbling   Classes and get the chance to make the different famous  art in the world. This class tought by famous Artist from Turkey  Nuran ONER. Our sessions will begin on Apr. 22th, 2014. The  four class sessions will be held everyday between 5pm - 7pm @ Raindrop Turkish House.

Fee: $30 per class
