As Raindrop Turkish House, We Have Visited Mayor Joe Adame
DSC_0049As Raindrop Turkish House, we have visited Joe Adame, the Mayor of City of Corpus Christi on Tuesday, April 2, 2012. In addition to informing our Mayor about our culture center and its activities, Mr. Demir, our Corpus Christi branch manager, have presented the gift to Mr. Adame as a token of our appreciation for his kindness and warm welcome. The gift was a special present from Mr. Sipahioglu, The Mayor of City of Alanya in Turkey. We deeply appreciate Mr. Joe Adame for his time and attention.
 
Chamber Of Commerce Meeting At Raindrop Turkish House Corpus Christi

Raindrop Turkish House hosted for monthly meeting of Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce with nearly 40 board members in March 8th, 2012.                                              "I am very happy to be here again since opening ceremony" said Mr. Robert Foster, President of Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Foster also introduced Mr. Demir to chamber members. Mr. Demir, Raindrop Representative, gave brief information about Raindrop Turkish House and its activities. Also a video presentation about Raindrop Turkish House was shown for guests by Mr. Demir. After meeting was over a short tour was held together at the Raindrop Turkish House.                                                                                                                                                         As Raindrop Turkish House we are honored to host Chamber of Commerce at our culture center.

Corpus Christi Raindrop Turkish House Hosted Homeland Security

DSC_0020Raindrop Turkish House hosted Department of Homeland Security. Customs and Border Protection Port Director Edith C. Clarke and CBP Officer Leonardo Mitchell visited Raindrop Turkish House and Port Director Clarke gave a brief presentation to our community about Homeland Security and its implementations. She also gave information about immigration services, customs, trade, laws and etc. Clarke answered the questions of community members in the second part of the briefing.

Raindrop Women Association Celebrated The International Women's Day At Another Ladies' Coffee Night

DSC_0249"Raindrop Women Association celebrated the International Women's Day at another Ladies' Coffee Night. Again, ladies from different walks of life got together to discuss the role of woman in today's society and in the past. Guests shared their ideas about the aspects of equality of woman and man in small groups first, and then a rapporteur from each table shared the summary of the ideas they discussed with the whole group. Discussion session of the program followed by dinner and Turkish tea was so elite. Speakers Rachel Cox, Director of Disability Services at TAMUCC and Mary Slusher, Certified Peer Specialist at the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation and a presenter Diana Garcia received some gifts from Turkey. Ladies' favorite game 'Evet/Hayir (Yes/No)' embellished the night again. Red roses are presented to all ladies after they enjoyed the Turkish coffee at the oriental corner. At the end of the night, the guests were eager to come to the next Ladies' Coffee Night which will be held in May to celebrate the Mother's Day."

Raindrop Turkish House Was Guest Of Corpus Christi Fire Department

DSC_0220We as Raindrop Turkish House visited Corpus Christi Fire Department to welcome our new Fire Chief Robert Rocha. We were introduced to Mr.Rocha by former Fire Chief Richie Quintero. We gave a brief information about Raindrop Turkish House and its activities. We realized that Mr. Rocha has wide information about Turkey and Turkish culture. We invited them to our cultural center. We wish them successful jobs and years both Mr. Rocha and Mr. Quintero.
