Raindrop Helping Hands at Dallas helped to Myanmar community

DFW area Raindrop Helping Hands helped the needy refugee people from Myanmar on Saturday November 5, 2011. Dallas Helping Hands donated gift cards and food. The community members felt so wonderful of doing this charity work. Turkish-American Community celebrate Eid al-Adha together with Burmese people also. Raindrop Helping Hands will continue to help the needy people through different programs. (November 7th ,201. Dallas, TX)

Dallas Raindrop Turkish House hosted ambassador of Turkey to United State Honorable Namik Tan with Council General of Turkey in Houston as well as other distinguished guests. Ambassador Tan toured around the facility and also received information about the services and activities. Ambassador Tan has appreciated the service of the Turkish community to DFW area. Then, Ambassador Tan met with leaders and representatives of the local Turkish as well as Turkic community. Ambassador Tan gave a keynote speech about foreign policy of Turkey and contemporary challenges. He received questions after the speech and answered wholeheartedly. We thank Ambassador Namik Tan for courtesy visit to our facility and sharing his time with community in DFW Metroplex. Rich Turkish brunch was served following the breakfast where people had a chance to ask or consult further with Ambassador Namik Tan.(Dallas,TX. October 22nd,2011)

Dallas Raindrop Foundation attended Addison World Fest by representing Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkmenistan. On Raindrop booth there were samples of gift items as well as introductory materials. People who attended the festival very much interested in Raindrop booth and bought gifts for their loved ones as well as book to satisfy their intellectual quest. As part of the Turkish Students Association cordially with Dallas Raindrop Turkish House, students at the University of Texas at Dallas organized a bake sale to help the people who suffered from the wildfire in Austin. There was a variety of delicious foods cooked by volunteers to help with the event. (10 October 2011.Dallas)

Turkish people need your help! Strong Quake Shakes Eastern Part of Turkey

At 1:41 p.m. (5:41 a.m. CT) on Sunday, October 23, a quake with a magnitude of 7.2 hit Van province of Turkey near the border of Iran.

According to TRT, state-run network, 59 people were killed and 150 were injured in Ercis. 25 people were also killed in provincial capital also named Van. One other person was reported dead in Bitlis. However, officials fear that 1000 people may have been killed by the earthquake. We have received many calls and emails from the community expressing sympathy. We are very saddened by this disaster and extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to those who lost their loved ones. May God comfort them at this difficult time.
