Raindrop Foundation hosted Consul General Cemallettin Aydin


(Monday, March 18th 2013, 6.00pm) Turkish-American community in Lubbock gathered together to host Honorable Cemalettin Aydin, Consulate General of Turkey. Honorable Aydin was really happy to meet with growing and prospering Turkish Community in Lubbock and to listen to their local problems and issues. He met everybody individually in the room and asked their problems. Turkish sytle refreshment and traditional Turkish tea were served in the program.

As Raindrop Foundation in Lubbock, we would like to thank our Consulate General Cemalettin Aydin for his visit to Lubbock. 

Raindrop Foundation in Lubbock Honored $1000 Scholarship

(Monday, February 18th 2013, 5.30pm) Raindrop Foundation in Lubbock honored Devi Khajishvili from Texas Tech University with a scholarship of $1,000. Devi is planning to pursue political science major in the university and he came from the country Georgia. The check was presented in our Lubbock branch right after the speech of the Lubbock Councilman Honorable Floyd Price . Devi expressed his appreciation to the foundation and he thanked all the donors to the foundation. His aim is to finish the major as soon as possible and help the needy people in the future. His mentor professor Mark Web from Texas Tech University appreciated the scholarship program of Raindrop Foundation.

Raindrop Foundation started Cooking Classes in Lubbock


(Saturday, February 16th 2013)Raindrop Foundation started Cooking class in the Lubbock branch with a total of 18 new students from the Lubbock community.
On this first class, students learned how to make potatoes salad (patates salatasi), rice pudding (sutlac), puff pastry with ground meat (milfoy borek).
They enjoyed learning Turkish cuisie while drinking traditional Turkish tea. This first class was very much enjoyed by the students.
Intellectual Talk Series with Todd R. Klein - General Issues in Lubbock

(Tuesday, January 29th 2013, 5.30 pm) Raindrop Foundation Lubbock  Branch hosted January session of newly started Intellectual Talk series  titled “General Issues in Lubbock.” The program started with  introductory remarks by the Raindrop Lubbock Representative and  continued with the keynote speech given by District 3 City Council  member and Lubbock’s own, Mr. Todd R. Klein. During his town hall  style speech, Mr. Klein addressed issues ranging from Lubbock’s water  problem, location of the new library, and making Lubbock an attraction  center in the region. He concluded his speech echoing a point raised by  an attendee on the positive contributions of Raindrop Foundation to Lubbock’s peaceful community. The evening ended after the guests were served Turkish coffee.

2nd Annual Turkish Food and Crafts Festival

(Friday, September 27th, 2012) Raindrop Turkish House, in  collaboration with Turkish Student Association, proudly organized the  second annual Turkish Food and Crafts Festival on campus. The  festival has been visited by around 1000 students and staff from Texas  Tech University and people from Lubbock community. The festival was  enjoyed with an authentic sample of Turkish Cuisine and marvelous  gifts.
