INGREDIENTS:
2 package of fillo dough# 4, 4 cups of granulated sugar, 3.5 cups of water, ½ of lemon, 1 lb. unsalted butter., 1 lb. Walnut, Cinnamon (optional)
PREPARATION: 4 cups of sugar and 3.5 cups water is boiled 10 minutes in a large saucepan together and later half of a lemon is added. Syrup is set aside to get warm. In a separate saucepan 1 lb. butter is boiled. Meanwhile, 1 pack of fillo dough (Apollo brand is preferable) is opened. A large baking tray is used for to lay the fillo sheets. After putting each fillo layer, some butter is spread with the help of a brush. This process is continued till the first package is finished. After fillo is finished walnut and cinnamon mixture is spread, and same process is continued for the second package, after all package is finished, with a sharp knife baklava is cut into equal pieces, and is baked on 380 F for almost one hour or until it gets golden brown color. When baklava is cooked, it is necessary to wait till it gets warm, to mix the baklava with syrup. Do not add syrup onto baklava until both is warm enough.
